15th Annual Sober Rafting Trip

Come join us for a weekend of fun and fellowship

June 16-18, 2017

Our action packed trip begins Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Buena Park. We leave on a chartered bus and head for Sacramento where we will be spending the first night. Many of us get together for dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and then back on the bus for an AA meeting at the local Alano Club - and then get some rest... tomorrow's going to be a long day!

Saturday morning after breakfast we head up to Cache Creek where we join up with another large group of sober rafters - lots of friends you haven't met yet. Warning - The rapids we go down for this trip are considered pretty tame by rafting people (2s&3s)... but please understand they are still rapids! Every year we get a few people that think this is a Disney ride. There is a fair chance of being tossed in the river and if you're not into a little adrenaline buzz, this may not be your idea of fun.

We will be camping on the river Saturday night which means you will need tents, sleeping bags, etc. Be advised the temperature is usually very warm this time of year. The meals on the river are provided. We have a giant meeting by the river Saturday night and anybody that's still standing can head down to the disco dance party afterwards. Our new campsite has a service for $35 they will provide a tent and chairs.

Sunday on the way back home, we will be stopping at Harris Ranch for five star dining.

Estimated arrival back at St. Josephs is around midnight.

You might want to take Monday off

The cost for the bus charter and rafting is $250

Hotel rooms in Sacramento are around $100

Meals are pretty much up to you.

We will have a wide variety of snacks and drinks on the bus.
